I was completely blown away with how well the boys jumped right back into school after the week off at Disney. They did better than I for sure. My problem is most likely related to the fact that dh is sick. It started on the trip (poor man had chills and sweats off and on for days) and he hasn’t really improved even after a trip to the dr and being on antibiotics for days now. He’s missed worked for two days (that’s a big deal for him) and his cough is so bad it’s keeping us all up. He leaves for a business trip next week and I hate the thought of him still being sick while travelling. So I am sleep deprived and nervous. Not a good combo for a homeschooling mom.
The week started off with Valentine’s Day of course. I didn’t go all out this year, just got each boy a card and small box of chocolates.
We signed up for a Valentine’s exchange on a homeschool forum and when we got home there were so many cards and goodies waiting for the boys!
Ds4 is doing a lot of computer work now, with Mathletics and two reading programs we are reviewing for TOS.
Ds3 is helping me review a site as well…I am thankful we have two computers in the same room for them to work while I supervise.
We are wrapping up our human body study. We played a game that reviewed the muscular and skeletal systems.
And they pasted major organs in place on a blank body form. Ds4, as usual, immediately got attached to his model, called it his buddy and named it “Steve.” :) (What’s with this goofy new smile of his anyway?)
Ds3 and I also played a game that reviewed some of our SOTW readings so far.
Ds4 is learning about his address in his First Language Lessons. All those Valentines he received in the mail really came in handy for those lessons!
My boy working on a multiplication test. I am really happy with his progress in math.
We started a new art curriculum that I am reviewing next month. This is our first attempt at using gouache paint…haven’t quite got the hang of it yet, but a good first attempt I think.
I’m linking this post up to Weird Unsocialized Homeschooler’s Weekly Wrapup. Hop over and see how other homeschooling families did this past week.
It looks like a great week. Sorry to hear about your dh. I will keep him in my prayers. It is not fun being away from home and being sick.
ReplyDeleteMy son lives in his pj's too most days. It is nice to see I am not alone in this form of minor undisciplined behavior. lol Great photos!
Have a wonderful weekend!
Lots of fun, hands-on activities! I hope your DH is 1oo% for his trip!

Looks like a good week apart from your husband's illness. I see in the updated post that he's on meds & not going on the trip, so I hope he'll be better soon & you'll be less worried. Take care!
