Muffin Tin Monday: Super Bowl

MTM125Button

There was no theme for this week’s muffin tin so I just decided to make it easy on myself and put the dinner I had planned for the Super Bowl into a tin for ds4.  Of course he loved it lol.

IMG_5744

We have some chicken poppers, ketchup for dipping, cut up veggies and a couple of “edible” crayons (pretzel rods dipped in candy melts and wrapped with “Go Colts” wrappers.)

IMG_5745 My little fan.  Actually, he and ds3 enjoyed the Puppy Bowl and the kitty half time show on Animal Planet more than the Super Bowl game lol.

IMG_5743 I covered our school table with a green table cloth to which dh kindly added medical tape for yard lines.  I found the little football players and goalposts at the party store (they are actually cake toppers.)  We had the traditional chips, veggies, dips, chicken (wings and poppers) and potato skins.  It was all pretty easy but they all loved it and I think it helped them all enjoy an otherwise cold and gloomy Sunday.  Head over to Michelle’s for more neat ideas and Happy Muffin Tin Monday!

Muffin Tin Monday

MTM125Button

This week ds4 is studying the letter C and cows for his kindergarten so I thought we would do a dairy themed muffin tin.

IMG_5226 Cheese flavored popcorn (otherwise he’s not a big fan of cheese) milk, chocolate pudding, buttered toast and yogurt.

IMG_5227 That’s a pretty goofy smile there my boy!  Btw, the pudding was his favorite.  :)  For more muffin tin madness stop by Michelle’s at Her Cup Overfloweth.

Muffin Tin Monday: Kabob Patterns

MTM125Button

This week’s theme for Muffin Tin Monday is Kabobs.  I’ve also seen it spelled as kebab.  Weird.  Anyway, as usual Monday rolled around and I hadn’t planned for this muffin tin meal and I’m standing in the kitchen arguing with myself…

Oh, I’m just not going to do it this week.

But you know how much he loves it!

But I can’t think of anything, my fridge is bare, and I can’t figure out the correct spelling of kabob!

Stop complaining and just do it.

Stop telling me what to do!  Oh, hey I thought of something.

And just like that the light bulb went off and I had an idea…I could make patterns on the kabobs and turn it into a math lesson to boot!

IMG_3464  Okay, I made a pattern of pb&j sandwich, grape and granola bar bite on three kabobs and left the last sandwich triangle and some extra grapes and granola for him to copy the pattern on his own kabob.  Not very pretty, but he’s a boy, he’s not into pretty.  ;)

IMG_3465 IMG_3467 Trickier than it looks lol!

IMG_3473 Mmm, kabobs make even the humble pb&j so very tasty.

IMG_3474 IMG_3476 And then of course, being a boy and all, we must practice our sword techniques with the empty kabob.

Muffin Tin Monday: All About Me

MTM125Button

The theme for this week’s MTM is perfect for us…today is ds4’s bday!  My youngest and last little boy turns five today.  I found an “all about me” booklet for him to fill out with his fave food, color, etc. and a cake that he glued five candles on and decorated with sprinkles.

IMG_3343 Here he is reading his book before digging in to his muffin tin meal, which btw consisted of a chicken nugget sandwich, “cheeto beetos” and grapes…all his faves of course.  ;)

IMG_3344 Yum!  Happy Birthday ds.  And Happy MTM everyone!  Head over to Michelle’s and get in on all the muffin tin fun.  :)

Muffin Tin Monday: Oscar the Octopus

muffin tin monday

We haven’t participated in a Muffin Tin Monday in a while!  Mostly my fault, just not feeling creative enough I guess.  But today there was no specific theme and I was going to make a special lunch for ds4’s Kindergarten theme anyway so….

IMG_2952 TaDa!  Ds is studying the letter O and octopus this week so I made him an “Oscar the Octopus” hot dog for lunch, complete with blue jello ocean and grape coral.  That ufo looking thing in the back is an Uncrustable.  We can call it the ocean floor.  Yes we can!

IMG_2955 The boy ate every bit!  And for the record, he didn’t figure out the octopus or ocean theme at all.  He said it was a person sitting in a chair lol.  Ds3 backed me up and explained things for him.  :)  Head over to Michelle’s at Her Cup Overfloweth for more Muffin Tin Monday fun.

Muffin Tin Monday: Party!!

muffin tin monday

This week’s theme for our muffin tin meal is party.  Well, we decided to have our theme around the book “If You Give A Pig A Party.”  I found a neat site that had an activity pack to download with coloring pages and ideas for a book themed party.

IMG_1972  First we did our coloring pages, one of which was decorating a cake.  Can you say glitter? lol.

IMG_1975 Then we made homemade ice cream!  Cute recipe I’ve seen before but never tried, where you put milk, sugar and vanilla in a small baggie and ice and salt in a big baggie.  Then put the sealed small baggie in the big baggie, seal, and shake until “frozen.”  Ds and I tossed the bag back and forth for our freezing process lol.  He really got into this theme and wanted to decorate the table.  He searched around and found a plastic tablecloth, some stickers, some ribbon and streamers, and his play doh ice cream maker.

IMG_1981 Cute, huh?  In the tin we have a mini donut with a candle (our version of a cake) some grapes (balloons) and the homemade ice cream (with sprinkles of course.)  Bottom row is pb&j (like in the book) and pig in a blanket.

IMG_1984 He loved it and we had a fun morning together.  I definitely like basing the theme on a book!  Be sure and check out all the creative moms who participate in Muffin Tin Monday with Michelle at HerCupOverfloweth.

Muffin Tin Monday

We went with another breakfast muffin tin this week.  Ds4 wanted cereal but couldn’t decide which one so an image of a muffin tin with a variety of cereal choices immediately popped into my head.

IMG_1934

And here we go!  I also tossed in a couple of mini donuts leftover from Sunday morning (they were actually ds’s idea, as I had suggested toast lol.)

IMG_1936 A thumbs up!  He approves. :)

Muffin Tin Monday: Dips and Sauces

muffin tin monday

IMG_1865

It’s pretty basic, but still a sound meal. :)  We have chicken nuggets and ketchup, baby carrots and a honey mustard dip and apples and some homemade caramel sauce.

IMG_1866 Here is my cutie ready to partake.  He is actually having the meal as a late dinner after a late nap, that’s why it’s dark and he looks sleepy lol.  When he wakes after a late nap he is soooo grumpy but he perked right up when I suggested having his muffin tin meal for dinner. :)  Somehow it turns a simple dinner into something special for him.

Thanks to Michelle at Her Cup Overfloweth for hosting this fun meme.  Head over to her site to see some really creative moms put together some really cute meals.

Muffin Tin Monday

muffin_tin_monday

For today’s Muffin Tin Monday, with many thanks to Michelle from Her Cup Overfloweth (our wonderful hostess!) ds4 had a real muffin tin breakfast. :)

IMG_1770 We have waffle sticks, syrup, strawberry slices, blueberries, and little powdered donuts, leftover from Sunday morning (donut day in our home :))

IMG_1771 He’s pretty excited!  Check out his little stuffed kitty.  He has quite a collection of those and I love that he is so attached to them still.  Ds4 is my last little boy and I want him to stay that way a while longer. :)

IMG_1775 Mom, please!  Can’t a guy eat in peace?
