The drive down to Orlando was pretty uneventful. There were patches of rain, but nothing too bad. The Disney part of our trip doesn’t begin until Monday, but dh has travelled so much lately that he earned a free hotel night, so we took advantage of that for a surprise day at Universal Studios. We checked into the Embassy Suites in Orlando (International Drive and Jamaican Court.)
We are big fans of the Embassy Suites and this one did not disappoint. The lobby had a very pretty waterfall.
The boys braved the pool, even though it was barely 70 degrees and raining. The pool was actually half indoor, half outdoor.
We had lunch at McDonald’s, a pretty famous one because it has the world’s largest play area. Plus this moon guy that serenaded us.
In the evenings the Embassy Suites has a manager’s reception with snacks and drinks. Here ds4 enjoys a non-alcoholic Pina Colada drink (he was especially impressed with the cherry on top.)
In the mornings they have a free breakfast. That guy looks way to happy for that early in the morning! Fuel up, boys, we are headed to see Harry Potter!
That looks so fun. I have never been to Disney World but I love Florida. :)
ReplyDeleteSounds fun. I have been to Florida twice and liked it.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your kind words about Au in the last few weeks. We will make sure his last days are happy, and we won't let him suffer.
Looks like it was a good time had by all. I know you'll have fun at Disney World.
ReplyDeleteWe went to that McDonald's in 1999. My BIL and SIL had told us how wonderful it was and that we just had to go there. We were disappointed. I thought it was rather yucky in there - not all that clean and rather dark. Hope you had a better experience!
