I finished Girl With The Pearl Earring by Tracy Chevalier today. It is part of my list for the Spring Reading Thing. I'm also part of a challenge on Shelfari to read 50 books this year. I am up to 15 books now and really enjoying it! Anyway, this was a good read. It is a fictionalized story about the girl who posed for the famous Vermeer painting of the same name. The story was interesting and well written. I honestly thought that some of the more incidental characters were more fleshed out and appealing than the main characters of the painter and the girl, but this did not distract from the story. It would make an easy but memorable weekend read. I just noticed when researching this book on Amazon that there is a movie based on it. Guess I'll have to rent that sometime...still haven't gotten around to renting The Devil Wears Prada! Don't watch movies that often lol.
