Four Contests and a Funeral

What a morning!  Not even 8 a.m. and we had quite the adventure in our house.  I was up and taking a look outside the kitchen door at the beautiful morning.  I spotted a bird perched on the side of our screened porch (there are a few holes) and figured I had better open the porch door to let him out.  Not one second after I opened the kitchen door did our kitty Winston (please don't hate him, he's just being a kitty) jumped out of nowhere and grabbed the bird.  AND THEN CAME INTO THE HOUSE!!  WITH THE BIRD!!!  Oh my goodness the wailing and squawking and thrashing about.  Of course this woke the kiddos who thought I'd gone crazy (yep, it was me making most of the noise lol.)  We managed to extract Winston and get him back outside while ds2 (my little hero and exterminator of all insects when dh isn't home) scooped the bird up in a box and placed him in a secure place outside to recover.  But of course he didn't, and thus we had a proper funeral.  All before breakfast.

So there you have it.  It's a little bit of work to enter, but the prizes are pretty awesome.  I'm entering, but I can tell you now, I never, ever win!  Ever!  I've entered blog contests where there was only 1 other entrant, and I DIDN'T WIN!  I didn't win any of the door prizes at that virtual homeschool conference.  I entered 4, count them 4, different contests to win tickets to the conference and didn't win any of those either!  But I'm not like, bitter, or anything. ;)  So go enter and win something.  'Cause you know I won't.  Win that is.
