A piece of equipment at our local substation malfunctioned and caught fire and we were out of power all day yesterday. So we brought out “Little Red” our handy dandy generator. One by one our neighbors brought out their own versions of “Little Red” and soon the block was a buzz with a very familiar sound. A sound we endured for 14 days in Sept of 2004 (thank you Hurricane Ivan.) A sound that haunts me to this day. The power was restored by evening (after a delicious grilled steak/potato/corn dinner followed by mushy ice cream for dessert.) And we all said our little prayers, thankful that it was only a test. :)
Just testing something.
