Darcy at My 3 Boybarians is hosting a “Not” Back-to-School Blog Hop for the month of August. This week we are sharing about our school rooms. Our school room is our dining room. It has undergone many changes this year as I am now back to homeschooling only two boys.
Here is the view from the kitchen door into the dining room. The past 4 years we had our big dining room table in there to accommodate everyone. This year I brought in the smaller table we had in the kitchen (got a new bigger one for there) and pared the chairs down to just two.
This is the view from the other side of the room, the entry into our home. That is ds3 sitting at my desk and Winnie the cat on the table. :)
This bookshelf was in our living room but I moved it in the school room and set up our workboxes next to it. On top of the bookshelf are various containers holding our supplies. On the wall above the bookshelf is my makeshift bulletin board, ready and awaiting our lessons on animal classification.
The opposite wall holds our chalkboard, word wall, world map, ds4’s alphabet cards, and other instructional posters.
I really like our new set up and think it will work out well for us this year. We’ll find out soon enough…today is our first day of school! Can’t wait to see everyone else’s rooms. :)
Your school room looks wonderful! Isn't funny how cats just gravitate to the table top?! Have a wonderful week.
ReplyDeleteGreat room! I envy your wall-space.
ReplyDeleteYour school room looks great. I wish I had a room just dedicated to school. Winnie looks very comfortable. Sassie is bad about laying on top of A.'s papers on the table when he tries to write.
ReplyDeleteHave a blessed year!
ReplyDeleteYou cat gave me a smile. Aren't they fun? Thanks for sharing on the Blog Hop.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing! It is a very cozy space.
ReplyDeleteMy kids would love to have a cat in the middle of our school table. ;-) Your schoolroom is really great!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing your room! We have a similar cat situation. Drives me crazy!
