Simply Made Sunday: Pool Cake

smsbuttonpng

Susana at Our Homeschool Fun hosts a weekly carnival where we can share things we have made with or for our kiddos during the week.   We were invited to a pool party to help my brother celebrate his new pool being finished so I made a pool cake.

IMG_2022 Basically I just made up a boxed cake in a 9x13 pan and cut out a pool shape after it cooled.  Then I frosted it and let that set while I made up some blue jello.  Pour the jello into the “pool” area and put it in the fridge to set up.  Our simple decorations were just blue m&m’s and gummy bears but if you search for this cake on the internet you will find tons of neat ideas.  My kids loved this!  They were in charge of the gummy placement and came up with the idea for the diving board. :)

  1. That is just too cute. I've seen these before, but never attempted one.
My kids only have one uncle, so I guess he would have to be their favorite even without a pool. He does have lots of horses though! : )
