Product Review: Listerine Oral Care Challenge

Thanks to Mom Central and Listerine,  the boys and I were able to participate in the Listerine Oral Care Challenge.  They sent us a box of supplies to help us with the challenge…

products-totalcare-cinnamint image I got some Listerine Total Care and we all got floss.  Now I had a rough time of it with cavities and such growing up, but as an adult I have had very few.  In fact, I had a small one filled last week and it had been so long since I’ve had anything but a cleaning done that WOW it was a shocker lol.  I want to do any and everything to make sure that doesn’t happen again.  ;)  The boys have good oral health so far, but it is a hassle getting them to brush (and usually I only win the battle once a day.)

Well this challenge really gave us a boost in the right direction for oral health!  The boys bugged reminded ME when it was time to do our new routine (dubbed Listerine time) and gladly brushed, rinsed and flossed twice a day.

As is suggested at Listerinekids.com, we tackled this challenge as a family.  Which is easier and less messy when you have double sinks in the bathroom, but that’s a whole other post.  ;)  Every morning and every night we gathered at the sink and did our thing.  The boys used the Agent Cool Blue pre-brush rinse to color their teeth and gums blue.  This helped them see exactly where they needed to brush.  This is not like the little red tablets we used to get from the dentist to color our teeth…the Agent Cool Blue is easier and tastier to use and it rinses off well.  By the third day both boys had mastered the measuring and pouring by themselves, thanks to an innovative and easy to use bottle.

After brushing away the blue it was time to floss.  I didn’t think they would go for this part very well, but the Reach floss we received was so easy to use that they didn’t mind at all…you should have heard all the “clicking'” as the floss was pushed in and out, in and out lol.

Now it was time to do the post-brush rinse with the Smart Rinse.  This stuff is great.  Not only is it an anti-cavity rinse, but it also clings to the particles missed during brushing so they can see them in the sink.  Oh how proud they both were to show me the results sitting in the bathroom sink lol.  But it got the point across that the efforts of brushing, flossing and rinsing really do pay off!

The Listerine Total Care that I got to use was also great.  The cinnamon flavor was my fave.  It not only helps prevent cavities, kills germs and fights bad breath but also helps restore tooth’s enamel, very important as you age (notice I said as you age…something I’ve decided not to do thank you very much.)

All in all I am very impressed with the Listerine Oral Care Challenge and the Listerine and Reach products we tested.  My boys are brushing more and looking forward to it!  I’m sure we will see the positive results at the next checkup.  :)  Be sure and visit the Listerine websites for coupons and other tips on these products.

  1. So many reviews! You must be racking in the cash. Lucky thing. I'm horribly jealous.
