Christmas Around The World: Week One

We began our Christmas around the world study this week and so far we have really enjoyed it!  The first country we “visited” was Japan.  Then the boys made Japanese fan ornaments for the tree.

IMG_4603 I was a little concerned at how well a Japanese fan would translate into a Christmas ornament, but these turned out very cute.  They were easy but quick, two qualities that my boys appreciate in crafts lol.

Next up was Great Britain.  Our ornament for this country was a cute little holly leaf.

IMG_4711 We even found some holly leaves in our yard to use as a guide.  Ds4 put a white berry next to his red berry “so it could have a friend.”  Isn’t he the sweetest?

Our final country this week was France.  We also read Santa’s Snow Cat and made popsicle snow flakes.

IMG_4743 IMG_4791 The Christmas study was all the homeschool we did this week.  Poor ds3 had a pretty invasive dental procedure this week (coupled with some bad luck with the family cars) and we all needed to take it a little easier.  Hopefully next week will be more productive.  ;)
