Apologia Educational Ministries provides creation-based science curriculum for homeschoolers. Ds4 and I received a delightful book to review from the Apologia Press division, called Good Morning, God.
The book is intended for children 1 to 8 years old and gently helps inspire them to think of and enjoy God throughout the day. It mixes simple pencil drawings with colorful illustrations of everyday activities a young child engages in, such as going to church, reading and playing with siblings. The story follows a young boy throughout his week, starting and ending each day by greeting God and stating how he will worship God that day (with his mind, body, thoughts, etc.) In the back of the book there are questions and activities for parents to implement for each day of the week, such as reading a verse or discussing heaven.
Ds4 enjoyed having me read this book to him and actually seemed to discover more about it with each reading. He could definitely relate to the little boy and his daily routines. Reading this book helped provide opportunities for ds and I to talk about some rather “deep” subjects like heaven and sin, but in the comfortable and relaxed setting of just the two of us snuggling with a book. It also provided much needed practice for learning the days of the week lol. ;) It’s a joy to come across a book that can reach a child on so many levels.
Good Morning, God is available at the Apologia website for $14.00.
I received a copy of Good Morning, God to facilitate this review. To see other TOS Crewmember reviews, click on the banner below.
