Book Review: Family Baggage

Another selection I have finished from my Spring Reading Thing challenge, Family Baggage by Monica McInerney. I really enjoyed this book! It is an easy read, yet is captivating enough to keep you reading. It's set in Australia and England and is about a family that owns a travel agency. The main character is set to take a group on a specialized tour with an old television actor throughout England, visiting places where the show the actor starred in took place. However, her sister, who set the tour up and was supposed to accompany her, never shows. So we have the fun of going on the tour, the mystery of the whereabouts of the sister, and of course the family history played out through several characters' narrations. This book is very well written, and well researched. You will learn a lot about the travel industry, the entertainment industry, and both countries the book is set in, without it being boring or droll. There is humor, romance and some tragedy of course. An all-around great read!
