Well, our little town survived the 250 snowflakes that fell yesterday and has come back to life! The library book sale that was cancelled due to the winter storm was back on today. Sigh, a reader’s paradise.
This book sale was a little different than the others our library has had. Most all the books were “discarded.” I don’t know what this means exactly except that they weren’t in the best condition and that the covers were ripped on most of them. But they were books and baby, they were cheap!
Okay, the pile in the first pic is mine. :) I got an exercise tape, a Mrs. Fields cookie book and 10 novels. On the right you see what I picked up for the boys, including books on the Pyramids, Ancient Egypt, dinosaurs, Roman Empire, and space.
And the grand total for all of these treasures? Brace yourselves. $5.00. THAT’S RIGHT! $5.00. I have never walked out of a used book sale with that many books and spent that little money. Plus, they threw in a free library t-shirt! Doesn’t get any better than that. :) My only problem? They have to stay packed away in the box (along with all our other books) until the new carpet gets installed. It’ll be like Christmas when we get to put them all up again lol!
Good job on your books! I am glad your town survived the snowstorm. : )
