Jacksonville Trip

So dh found out just a day or so beforehand that he had to travel to Jacksonville the day after our party, to work on some equipment at a hospital there.  He just got back from two two-week trips to California so we decided to go with him on this one.  I was a little unsure about the whole thing, what with trying to pack for a trip while putting together a party and then leaving so soon afterward but we dove right in and did it.

The drive Sunday was pretty much uneventful.  We arrived at our favorite hotel ever, the Embassy Suites Baymeadows in Jacksonville, Florida late in the afternoon.

Next day we enjoyed the best free breakfast ever!

The following is a series of pics taken by my ds3.  Enjoy seeing the hotel through a 10yo’s eyes.

After ds2 did some schoolwork we headed down to the indoor pool (again.)

You know why he looks so happy?  He just jumped in the pool by himself for the first time.  That deserves a high five!

Ds3 is the master of the odd jump lol.  He has this thing where he holds his nose while he jumps and it makes for interesting poses.

From here the trip goes downhill.  :(  Ds3 woke up around 3a.m. the next day sick.  Dh finished up his work early and we headed home Tuesday afternoon instead of Wednesday night.  Poor boy got sick a few times on the way home in the car but made it okay and was better by the next morning.  Not the vacation we were hoping for, but we’ll take what we can get.  ;)

  1. Sounds like a fun time (except for ds3 getting sick). Hope he feels better soon!

  2. It sounded like everyone was enjoying the trip until ds3 got sick. That definitely isn't fun. Hope he's feeling better soon.
