Like Pulling Teeth (a.k.a. First Day of School Photos)

What a momentous day.  My second oldest returned to public high school for his senior year (he did public for 9th and homeschool for 10th and 11th) and the two younger boys and I started another homeschool year.  Andy is 11 (soon to be 12) and is in 6th grade.  We don’t focus too much on grade levels and when I “welcomed” him to 6th grade this morning he was surprised.  “Whoa, I’m in 6th grade already?”

Yes my dear, you are.  Note the forced smile.  It was pure torture for him.

Reese is 7 (soon to be 8) and is in 2nd grade.  He has been spouting the same “don’t want to go back to school” attitude as his brother, but with a secret smile.  He actually enjoys school, but hey, with 3 older brothers you have to save face.  :)

And what a cute face it is.

Well, they have certainly got their mug shot and driver’s license photo poses down pat.  Here’s to another great homeschool year!
